The grand and elegant Investiture Ceremony for the academic year 2019-20 was held at 8.30 am on April 30, 2019 at the basketball court on the school premises. The Chief Guest for the day was Dr. Jayakar Bhandary, Asst. Professor at Government First Grade College, and the Guest of Honour was Mrs. Roopa Bangera, Corporator of Kadri Ward. Senior Principal Mr. Ramachandra Bhat and Vice Principal Mrs. Anupama Rao were also on the dais along with the dignitaries.
The programme which was hosted by Mrs. Madhuri, opened with the lighting of the lamp and prayer. Senior Principal Mr. Ramachandra Bhat invited the gathering formally, and Vice Principal Mrs. Anupama Rao led the oath taking ceremony. The student cabinet members took the pledge to serve the institution to the best of their abilities and with utmost respect and sincerity. Following this, Head Boy Master Vaibhav Kadri introduced the office bearers to the dignitaries. An air of dignity and pride filled the atmosphere as the office bearers were handed their badges and flags. Parents of the student cabinet members were also present for the ceremony, and they felt honoured to witness their children rise as leaders.
The Chief Guest Dr. Jayakar Bhandary spoke about leadership and explained the five most essential C’s required for a leader – Character, Confidence, Commitment, Courtesy and Conviction. He also said that the school office bearers are the future leaders of our society.
The Guest of Honour Mrs. Roopa Bangera appreciated the ethics of Amrita Vidyalayam saying that it aims at the complete and ethical development of each student, and that they should feel blessed to be a part of this great institution. She stressed the importance of applying the knowledge gained in real life, and wished all the best to the new cabinet members.
The entire function was majestic and well-organised with the help of all the staff members, and the school witnessed a beautiful ceremony on a beautiful day. Finally, Head Girl Ms. Shradda Prabhu proposed the vote of thanks to all and the programme came to an end with the Shanthi Mantra.
